Inkari Plush Alpacas (Mini, Small, Medium, Large)
Date: 6 Aug 2025
We are recalling Inkari Plush Alpacas purchased since 1st August 2023 that carry the 0+ labelling because testing has shown that in some cases, the small plastic eyes may detach creating a potential choking hazard for young children.
The alpacas remain safe for display or collection by adults but because of the 0+ labelling and potential choking hazard for children under 3 the products do not comply with EU or US toy safety requirements. Therefore we are required to recall all products sold since this date.
Affected Products:
-
Inkari Plush Alpacas: Mini, Small, Medium, Large - all designs and batches - that carry a 0+ label
-
Excludes: XXL Alpacas (these do not use detachable eyes)
-
Sold between: 1 August 2023 and 31 July 2025
Summary of Risk:
-
The small plastic eyes on some alpacas may detach if pulled or chewed, creating a choking hazard for young children.
-
The current labelling ("0+") does not reflect this risk.
-
While the risk is very low for adult collectors and display use, we are legally required to recommend that all customers destroy the product and request a refund.
